Comments: On Faith

The UU church is really super interesting in my book. They pull from all sorts of faiths, so you're as likely to hear about nirvana and karma as you are to hear about disciples. Remember though, that congregations and faith communities are all very different in their "feel", and I've been to UU churches that didn't knock my socks off. Then again, I've been to others that absolutely did. I'm pretty fiercely atheist, though I don't talk about it with people at length. It tends to invite the haters, which I assume are the peeps you're not as onboard with. At any rate, in the UU church I didn't find haters, but I still did get some "oh, don't worry, you'll believe at some point" vibes. Good luck with your search, baby!
I very often feel as you do - but everyime I have tried a religion other than what I was raised with (catholic) it feels off to me. I did study buddhism for two years and loved it ...not sure why I stopped. Anyway these days just taking what I can, what I need from Catholicis and leaving the rest that I don't agree with. Good luck on your journey.
