I was offered the job in Lynchburg. It was a good offer- a substantial raise from the old (bad) company. They won't allow me to work four 10s though, so I will have to be out there 5 days a week (at least a half day on Friday). I am looking for a room to rent up there and I'll stay there 3-4 nights a week.

We talked it over. A lot. And we decided I should take it. It won't be easy, we'll have to adjust, but the not having a job was putting a strain on both of us, and I was starting to get very depressed.

In the end, it's only the location that is not ideal. It's a good company, I like the people, and I am excited about the work.

I'm just going to miss coming home every day.

So, I have not yet heard back from the job in Lynchburg. I assume that means I spectacularly failed the personality test (with math!) that I took two weeks ago. And that I did therefore not get the job.

I have another interview Thursday. It's for a utility, one I'd like to work for. I don't know how good my chances are though. In my favor is the fact that I've done work for them in the past and therefore know two of the people on the interview committee.

I've joined some job-hunting groups and have been doing lots of networking. It's helpful to get out and meet people in the same situation, but also depressing.

I need a job. I need a job now. And I don't see it happening for a while.
