Hello, today I need ice cream

But, the problem with traveling with two male co-workers is that they do not understand that. At all.

It started off when I asked, “When are we going to lunch?” Answer, “I’m not hungry,” which is not what I asked. We finally did go (the not hungry one didn’t come, and I had to point out to him that he’d need to give me the keys) and I explained that 1:15 is way to late for lunch for me, and I have otherwise conformed my schedule to theirs, so I’d appreciate it if we could at least eat lunch earlier.

I came back to learn that I am losing the cube I sit in here, and will be relocated to the cube that serves as a library. So, not really a lot of room to work. Why would we want to make things easier on the girl working away from home 2/3 of the time? No reason to do that at all- she’s already proven she’ll put up with most anything. Except late lunches.

Ouch. Being moved always seems to smack of not being valued. And cut yourself some slack! You stood up for lunches! That's GOOD!

Men just don't seem to get it...when we say we need lunch, we NEED lunch. Good for you in standing up for yourself and letting them know that you've tried to be accommodating to their schedule - NOW it's THEIR turn to be the accommodating ones.

Hey Milton, whats up? MMMM K, I going to have to ask you to move all the way to the back of the cube so that we can fit some more storage boxes in there, mmmmK.Thanks, and don't forget to put a coversheet on all TPS reports.

Why are you asking if they are ready for lunch? If they aren't into making the effort of accomodating your lunch schedule, just tell them you are going to lunch so you need the keys. They can go to lunch after you get back. If they have to wait awhile, it's no different than them expecting you to wait 2 hours for them to be "ready" for lunch. Oh...and you definitely need to find a way to mark your territory in your new cube/library---I'll leave the method up to you.
