I just got an e-mail saying that I have two projects to manage fiscally now. (Yes, I check my work e-mail from home.) One of them I did the budget on, but the other one I have been just a monkey.
Although, I was told this was "crucial to [my] evolution as a task manager," so I suppose it makes sense."
Welcome to the world of budgeting at work...usually the case where someone else comes up with the budget (which is impossible to keep without working 2/3 of the project for free) and then having to justify why you are now over budget (like the project budget developed was missing like...oh...about 300 hours..) Been there, done that, still doing that, although now they know to involve me a bit more in the whole budgeting process, so at least if we go over now, it's partially my fault.
