Just when I had convinced myself I was imagining things

When I went to bed last night, the mousetrap was near the kitchen sink.  When I came downstairs this morning, the mousetrap was on the opposite side of the kitchen.  Although I suspected this meant there was a mouse in it, I thought it also possible the boys decided to play with it empty.  Not so.  There was a field mouse inside the trap.  (No, I did not bop it on the head.)  What did I do?  I put it back by the sink and left a message for my landlord.  Hey, I'm not letting it go right outside my house, so it can get back in.  Also, I was unsure as to its state of existence.  If I were a mouse, caught in a trap, and then some cats started batting the trap around, I might have a heart attack.  Hard to say.
